Product Description:
This antibiotic, containing sulfadimethoxine/ormetoprim, is effective against Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli bacterial infections.Indications for Use: Primor is for use in bacterial infections of the skin and tissues, including wounds and abscesses. This product can also be used in some urinary tract infections.
Dosage and Administration: An initial dose of 25 mg per lb. of body weight is recommended. After this dose is given on the first day, the dose should be decreased to 12.5 mg per lb. per day. This 12.5 mg dose should be given for no longer than 21 days and should be continued for 2 days after all signs are gone.
Precautions and Side Effects: Allergic reactions are a possibility. See page E200 for additional information in allergic reactions. Some animals may develop urinary tract problems.
Packaging: This product comes in four different sizes of tablets, in 120, 240, 600, and 1200 mg strengths.
Storage: The tablets can be stored at a controlled room temperature.
