Product Description and Indications for Use:
This is a tablet used to control the signs associated with hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing’s disease). This drug only aids dogs that have Cushing’s disease that is caused by problems with the pituitary.Dosage and Administration: An initial dose of 1 mg/kg (0.45 mg/lb) of body weight is recommended. This dose is given once a day in the morning and continued for at least 2 months. During this two-month period, the dog should be closely monitored by a veterinarian. After this initial therapy, if no improvement has occurred, the dose can be increased up to 2 mg/kg (0.90 mg/lb) once a day. Throughout the initial treatments, the dog should be closely monitored for adverse signs (see below for some of the most common). The majority of dogs seem to respond within 1-2 months.
Precautions and Side Effects: Some adverse signs that are noticed with Anipryl include vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, and decreased hearing. If these signs are noticed, contact a veterinarian.
Packaging: The tablets come in 2, 5, 10, 15, and 30 mg strengths.
Storage and Shelf Life: Keep in a cool dry place and at a controlled room temperature.
