Ivermectin (Ivercare & Eqvalan®)


Product Description: These products contain ivermectin and are for the control and prevention of internal parasites such as large strongyles (adults) – Strongylus vulgaris (also early forms in blood vessels), S. edentatus (also tissue stages), S. equinus, Triodontophorus spp; small strongyles including those resistant to some benzimidazole class compounds (adults and fourth-stage larvae) – Cyathostomum spp, Cylicocyclus spp, Cylicostephanus spp, Cylicodontophorus spp; pinworms (adults and fourth-stage larvae) – Oxyuris equi; ascarids (adults and third- and fourth-stage larvae) – Parascaris equorum; hairworms (adults) – Trichostrongylus axei; large-mouth stomach worms (adults) – Habronema muscae; bots (oral and gastric stages) – Gastrophilus spp; lungworms (adults and fourth-stage larvae) – Dictyocaulus arnfieldi; intestinal threadworms (adults) – Strongyloides westeri; summer sores caused by Habronema and Draschia spp cutaneous third-stage larvae; dermatitis caused by neck threadworm microfilariae, Onchocerca sp.

Dosage and Administration: Each marking on the syringe indicates a dose for a 250 lb. animal. All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program. Foals can be treated at 6 to 8 weeks of age. These products are safe to use in pregnant animals. See pages B610 and A622 for specifics on administration techniques and a recommended deworming schedule.

Packaging: These products come in a syringe containing enough paste to treat a 1250 lb. animal.

Precautions and Side Effects: These products are to be used only in horses, and should not be used in other animal species. Disposal of used syringes should be in an approved landfill or by incineration.

Storage and Shelf Life: Store at room temperature.

Meat Withholding: Do not use in horses intended for food.
