Foalwatch

Product Description: This is a test to aid in determining when a mare is likely to foal.

Indications for Use: This product is designed to determine calcium levels in pre-foaling milk. The calcium levels in a mare’s milk increase dramatically just prior to foaling.

Test Procedure: Begin testing 10 to 14 days prior to the mare’s expected foaling date. Testing a sample once a day is sufficient until test results exceed 100 ppm. Sampling twice a day is then recommended. Follow the directions contained in the test kit.

Test Interpretation: In mares testing at 200 ppm, there is a 54% chance of foaling in 24 hrs., an 84% chance of foaling in 48 hrs., and a 98% chance of foaling in 72 hrs. For mares who have not yet reached or exceeded 200 ppm, there is a 98% probability that foaling will not occur within 24 hours. This test is not 100% accurate in all mares.

Packaging: This product comes packaged in 20 individual tests per kit.
