Product Description:
This drug is an anti-inflammatory (general pain reliever).Indications for Use: Use for fever, mastitis, bacterial infection, muscle damage, intestinal or stomach pain.
Not approved for use in sheep and goats. Refer to extra-label drug use.
Dosage and Administration: Give 0.5 mg per pound of body weight (1 mL/100 lbs.), administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) once a day.
Duration of Treatment: Banamine can be given for up to 5 days consecutively (see precautions).
Packaging: The product comes in 50, 100, and 250 mL bottles. Each mL contains 50 mg of flunixin meglumine.
Precautions and Side Effects: High doses and excessive days of treatment can cause stomach and intestinal irritation and/or ulceration. If blood is noted in the feces, discontinue use and consider antiulcer treatment (Magnalax).
Storage: This drug requires no refrigeration.
Milk Withholding: Not established in sheep and goats. Some reports indicate an "unofficial" withdrawal of
