Product Description:
This product is an antibiotic effective against gram positive bacteria (Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus spp.).Indications for Use: Use for general upper respiratory bacterial infections and lamb dysentery.
Not approved for use in goats. Refer to extra-label drug use.
Dosage and Administration: When treating lamb dysentery, give a one time dose of 5 mg per every pound of body weight. For respiratory infections, give 1.0 mg per pound of body weight every 8-12 hours. These injections should be given intramuscular (IM). To be effective, some veterinarians recommend giving 2.3 mg per pound of body weight every 8-12 hours in an extra label manner.
Duration of Treatment: Treat at least 2-3 days beyond resolution of symptoms.
Packaging: This product comes in 100 mL bottles, and each mL contains 100 mg of erythromycin.
Precautions and Side Effects: Tissue reactions are possible at the injection site.
Storage: This product does not need refrigeration.
Milk Withholding: 72 hours after last treatment when used according to label in sheep.
Meat Withholding: 3 days when used according to label in sheep and 10 days to avoid excessive trim.
