INTRODUCTION

This manual IS to be used as a guide and a teaching tool in assisting the sheep and goat producer to become more adept at recognizing a problem, assisting in making a correct diagnosis, and ultimately, implementing the proper and timely treatment of his or her animals, with the help of the local veterinarian. This manual is NOT intended to replace the experience and expertise of a veterinarian. The authors and editors of this manual do not intend to give specific veterinary medical advice. The material contained in this manual is for informational purposes only and should not be used as the primary or only guide in a given situation. Individuals utilizing the information contained in this manual should be aware of the changing nature of disease processes, recommendations on the use of various pharmaceuticals, and medical research in general.
