Neobacimyx® and Neobacimyx®-H

Product Description: These products contain three antibiotics (bacitracin, neomycin, and polymyxin). Neobacimyx-H contains a steroid (hydrocortisone) in addition to the three antibiotics. These antibiotics are effective against many gram negative and gram positive bacteria.

Indications for Use: These products can be used in bacterial infections of the surface of the eye and inner eyelid lining. Neobacimyx-H should NOT be used in animals with a corneal ulcer or where there is a viral or fungal infection of the eye.

Dosage and Administration: A thin film of Neobacimyx or Neobacimyx-H should be applied to the eye 2-4 times a day. Response to treatment will determine the duration of use of the product.

Precautions and Side Effects: Neobacimyx-H should NOT be used in animals with a corneal ulcer, or where there is a viral or fungal infection of the eye. The steroid in this product can delay corneal healing and may make a viral or fungal infection worse. Steroids given orally or by injection have been shown to cause problems in pregnant animals; consequently, it is recommended that a veterinarian be consulted before administering this product to a pregnant animal. Some animals experience irritation and inflammation when using this product. If this occurs, discontinue use.
