Adequan® Canine


Product Description: This product contains polysulfated glycosaminoglycan (PSGAG’S).

Indications for Use: Adequan can be used for the treatment of noninfectious, degenerative and/or traumatic joint disease/arthritis of canine synovial joints.

Dosage and Administration: Give 2 mg/lb (1 mL per 50 lbs) of body weight, intramuscularly (IM). This dose can be given up to twice a week for up to four weeks. Thoroughly wash the injection site with alcohol each time before giving the injection.

Packaging: The product comes in 5 mL vials. Each mL contains 100 mg of polysulfated glycosaminoglycan.

Precautions and Side Effects: Do not use in dogs showing hypersensitivity to PSGAG. Do not use in dogs with known or suspected bleeding disorders. Use with caution in dogs with kidney or liver impairment. Studies on the safety of Adequan in breeding, pregnant, and lactating animals have not been conducted.

Storage and Shelf Life: Store at room temperature between 64-77°F.
